REVIEW OF MOVIE CHALK N DUSTER

Overview : Chalk n Duster is a simple film , based on Indian Education System , where though  teaching is considered a noble profession but  in todays time it has taken a shape of big business making life of mediocre school , its Teachers  and students miserable.

Story Line : Chalk N Duster revolves around Kantaben School Faculty Fight against injustice by Management . It also depicts around Good Freindship  between 2 teachers Vidya (Shabana Azmi ) and Jyoti (Juhi Chawla) , who are subject to dirty politics played well by Divya Dutta  supported by Aarya Babbar who is the nephew of Trustee of the School and recently. who has landed from London .
 Divya Dutta manipulates Aarya and becomes Principal of the Kantaben School upgrading from a supervisor  post to Principal . Shortly after that  Aarya Babbar meets  Jackie Shroff The Dean of No 1 school of the city , and challenges him  that he will also make his school Kantaben No 1 no matter  whatever it takes to do so  .  So he gives  full power to Divya ,who    has the agenda of turning the humble school into  a big business hub ,while competing to make it no 1 ,  she also succeeds in winning  confidence of trustees and teacher parent association as well .  She makes  plans out to chuk off old teachers and replace them with new teachers , and also increase fees of students ,  In this list even Vidya (Shabana Azmi ) , is chucked off on the grounds that her teaching methods are outdated . Vidya is hurt so much that she suffers heart attack and is hospitilised .  Jyoti on hearing this stands up against  Divya , resulting that she is also fired .

Jackie Shroff on hearing this calls up Richa Chaddha who is a reporter from T.V Channel India News . Jyoti joins Richa and the whole episode is brought in public urging all students to show support to their teacher ,  Jyoti stirs up a whole lot of revolution against the management through the media , so much so that the trustees and the Education Minister is also jolted ,Meanwhile in some time , Shabana Azmi gets well with support from Juhi and other teachers .  She joins in the fight against management along with Jyoti and Richa .

 But Divya  is stubborn and not ready to  accept  failure and restore them back , infact she along with Trustees and Minister of education , plans out a game in the form of quiz show in which both the teachers Shabana And Juhi have to ans 10 questions and prove their competence and knowledge , and prove that they are not outdated .  The quiz is organised on India Tv News hosted by Rishi Kapoor on the guide lines of KBC , there is also a prize money total rs 5 crores for 10 correct ans , but if  both teachers fail in the quiz then both will have to leave the field of education . Both teachers accept the challenge , what happens next whether the corrupt system wins  or the honest teachers , will both teachers able to prove their calibres is for the audience to  watch .


Performances : Shabana Azmi and Juhi Chawla have given brilliant performances portraying the role of teachers perfectly , initiating the mind set and body language of  mediocre teachers perfectly , Also a good bonding is shown between Shabana And Juhi, Richa Chaddha has done good job as a reporter , Divya Dutta as the baddie has done total justice to the role . Aarya Babbar was ok , though he could have done better , Rishi Kapoor and Jackie Shroff in a special roles are good . The music is ok . though movie does not require much music .
The movie is edited very well .

Verdict : The Movie seems more focused on plight of teachers of mediocre school,  rather then the education system itself ,  the movie could have done much better if director could have worked better on the script . the script needs polishing .

The script in bits and pieces does touch some good ground for you to think over your teachers who made you what you are today creating some good reminiscence of your school teachers .

Its a  once watch

Shraddha in adventure mode!

 

Shraddha Kapoor was recently spotted hanging on the exterior of a 34 storey building.

 

Yes, you heard that right! The young actress was literally hanging off a harness on the exterior wall of the Four Season Hotel, Worli.

 

Shraddha undertook the activity as a part of training for an Ad shoot. she performed the act with training from international dance group Bandaloop , who are pioneer in vertical dancing on a façade of high rise buildings

 

The Ad required the actor to do rapelling on the exterior of a building , shraddha was completely blown away when she was first introduced to the act . The Bandaloop group seamlessly weaved dynamic physicality and intricate choreography to bring alive weightless proposition of the product as performers floated and twirled in the air .  As the piece de resistance , Shraddha went truly weightless and joined the act mid -air.

 

 

The actress has been enjoying performing action for Baaghi too.

 

When the requirements of the Ad film were conveyed to the young actor, she became excited to try her hand at rapelling.

 

Shraddha is to feature in Baaghi opposite Tiger Shroff in addition to Rock On 2 alongside Farhan Akhtar.

MOVIE REVIEW OF WAZIR

Overview : The Film revolves around Danish Ali who is a ATS Cop , based in Delhi , whose daughter gets shot accidentally in an gun fire exchange between him and some terrorist , Danish is burdened with the guilt that its because of him his  daughter got killed , even his wife Ruhana (Aditi Rao Hydari ) , blames him for their daughter's death and distances herself from him , burdened he even tries to commit suicide  but fails , due to his reckless act as a cop , he is suspended for a long time , during that period he meets an interesting personality former chess master  Omkarnath . known as Panditji (Amitabh Bachchan ) , who teaches many kids game of chess but himself has lost the game of his life , Panditji's wife is killed in an accident , where in he himself loses both his legs and is wheelchair bound , fate give him a bigger jerk when his  daughter Nina dies a mysterious death at Izaad Qureshi's  residence who is a  Welfare Minister (originally from Kashmir )  , the police closes the case saying that Nina had tripped off the staircase at Izaad Qureshi's residence where she had gone to teach his daughter and her friend game of chess , Panditji is not satisfied by police investigations , he suspects that his daughter was murdered , he approaches Danish to help him in investigating the case , Panditji becomes friends with Danish as both are  grieving loss of their respective daughters , He also teaches him game of chess , and ask Danish to help solve the case , Danish agrees to help him , but is helpless due to his suspension , Amidst all this Panditji is attacked by a mysterious man called Wazir .

Who is Wazir and will Danish be able to track him down and uncover the truth behind Nina's Murder  , also Who in real is Izaad Ali  , there is secret behind his identity  his is for the audience to watch . The movie depicts how the game of chess is cleverly incorporated in the story ,

Performances : Amitabh Bachchan as Panditji is brilliant as he is a legend , Farhan Ahktar as Danish is excellent , Aditi rao Hydari has a small role to play but she is very much expressive , Manav Kaul who plays the role of Welfare Minister fits the bill perfectly .  John Abraham has a special appearance ,  Neil Nitin Mukesh  as Wazir scars the hell out of you with his evil antics . He does not have much screen time but the scenes that he features in are quite unforgettable .

Verdict : Two talented people Vidhu Vinod Chppra and Abhijit Joshi work on the script of the film and you wonder how they can go wrong . The basic plot of the film  is actually interesting but lack of careful detailing ruins it . In most of the scenes that are expected to suck you into the story and make it gripping , the writers fail to build the anticipation as they lay their cards face up . Other than the major twist that comes towards the end , the makers could have made it more interesting but fails to do so , thus leaving us disappointed . In spite of 2 biggies Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar who do try to save the film by their perfoemance but the script is too weak to carry their weight .

If you are planning to watch Wazir as a thriller then no point it lacks any thrill and in no way a thriller at all .though it does have a surprise element in the climax .
