Review of Movie Mirzya

Production House : Cinestaan Films and Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra Pictures

Director : Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra

Cast : Harshvardhan Kapoor , Saiyami  Kher , Anuj Chowdhary , Om Puri and Art Malik

Overview: A  classic love story  of Mirza And Sahibaan recreated in Two era the modern and classic from the makers of hits like Delhi 6 , Rang De Basanti and Bhag Milka Bhag Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra .
Story Line : The story  revolves  Mohnish (Harshvardhan Kapoor) and Suchi/Suchitra (Saiyami Kher ) who are childhood friends living in small town  near jodhpur , they go together to school and help and support each other but unfortunately due to some gruesome crime  tears them apart and Suchi and his father who is police officer leaves the city and Mohnish and Suchi are sererated . Years  later Suchi returns to India for her engagement to a royal prince , Karan (Anuj Chaudhary ) , She desires to learn horse riding ,  Karan arranges for her to learn horse riding from Adil Mirza who is working at the Karan’s stable . During her learning she comes to know that Adil is actually Mohnish her childhood friend , their love is rekindled but there is huge  status gap between the two of them  and their horrific past will their love survive and what happens when karan comes to know about this is for the audience to watch .  This love story of Suchi and Mohsin is shown collateral with the Legend of Mirza and Sahibaan,  What is this legend, is for the audience to watch .

Performances : This is the Bollywood debut for Harshvardhan Kapoor  but he does not have much to show case his acting skill , with very minimal dialogues  , only his haggard look of stable boy and his horse riding  portions prove that he has put lots of effort . This Kapoor lad is definitely her to stay

Saiyami Kher  also debuts in this film , she looks luminous in the film . The challenge for both the debutant is to emote without much dialogues ,both have done a fine job . Also Saiyami in one  scene has to run and ride the bike wearing dulhan lehenga  weighing 14 kgs but she carries off the scene with ease .

Anuj Chaudhary as the prince  has done a fabulous job , his  carries his royal look impressively . , his sudden transition into a grey shade character is good.  Art Malik has done a good job , Om Puri has done a cameo which does not contribute much.

Direction and Script Analysis  :There is a lot of expectation from Rakesh Om Praksh Mehra and Gulzaar , but this team totally fails with this . Rakesh Om  Prakash Mehra has presented the movie in a broadway musical style and ballet recital style where we see colourful rajasthani groups singing about what’s going to happen in the movie  as the movie  runs parallel with contemporary story of Mirza and Sahibaan and Suchi and Mohnish , this may  confuse lots of audience and this will  not connect with young generation as there is no passion  shown between Suchi and Monish as expected

The script is lacking any volume and story has nothing new to offer . On the other hand the positive point pf the movie is its cinematography which is beuatifyll y shot across sand dunes of rajasthan and royal  palaces , also  snow- capped mountains of ladakh are shown beautifully and are a visual treat . The music is not that  great though Daler Mehndi title track is good but his voice is too screcthy .

The slow pace of the movie is going to be a test of everyone;s patience .

Final Words: Mirzya is a romantic broadway ballet style movie with appealing visual presentation wh but it badly fails to impress the audience .

Ratings : 2.5*/5*

'HOTA HAI' song from Mirzya is formidable!!

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s MIRZYA highlights the plight of our lead pair, Adil & Soochi. Fighting all odds to be together, their story is one that moves us to reflect on our own lives.

After recently released DARE TO LOVE TRAILER, comes the new song, HOTA HAI, which features debutants Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher give touching performances which stay compellingly with you till the end and leave you with a sense of wanting to see more. The world may be trying to keep them apart, but they DARED TO LOVE! Telling the story of the unpaved road to love and the sacrifice made to be with one’s soulmate.

In recreating the legend and folklore of Mirza-Sahiban, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s MIRZYA has been exquisitely shot in the bleak and desolate terrain of Ladakh and the vibrancy of colourful Rajasthan, which heightens the contrast between the two worlds of a legendary folklore and the contemporary, yet are interwoven very intricately to bring out the story of a tale that will never die. The eternal love story resonates even today in the modern day world of Rajasthan in 2016, as seen in this narrative song, and is a befitting testimony to two eternal and rebellious lovers.

Along with Harshvardhan and Saiyami the film also introduces Anuj Chaudhary, all of whom make a dramatic entry into the world of cinema in this untold love story of estranged soulmates. Along with them are the screen masters, Om Puri, Art Malik, K. K. Raina and supported by Anjali Patil.

This ageless epic is brought to life by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra in his inimitable vision and song is in the words of lyricist Gulzar. The musical craft of Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Polish Director of Photography Pawel Dyllus.  All of whom come together to create a cinematic masterpiece that is unrivaled in Indian Cinema.

Lara Dutta And Mahesh Bhupati Launches Good Knight personal repellent range

Mumbai, September 30, 2016:  Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. (GCPL) announced its foray into Out of Home (OOH) personal repellent category under its flagship brand Good knight. The new range has innovative formats that are easy to use and protects against mosquitos outdoors. The highlight of this range is Good knight Fabric Roll-On, India’s first format that just needs 4 dots to be applied on clothes and protects for 8 hours against mosquitoes outdoors. Additionally, the range also includes Good knight Cool Gel and Good knight Patches.

Sunil Kataria, Business Head-India and SAARC, GCPL said, “While there is an alarming rise of vector borne diseases like Dengue and Chikunguniya across the country, there is a lack of awareness that the mosquitoes that spread these diseases, usually bite during the day. Another reason for low adoption for outdoor and personal mosquito repellents has been the lack of innovative products. No product in the market can make it amenable for users to use everyday. Keeping these in mind, we have launched the new Good knight outdoor personal repellent range of products, which are not only easy and safe to use; but also give 8 hours of protection against mosquitos. With this new launch, we are confident creating a new consumer habit of using outdoor repellents everyday.”
He further added “ Good knight believes that parents should encourage their kids to step out of home, as it plays an important role in their development. Hence, this also formed the base of our new campaign slogan – ‘‘Khul ke jiyo ghar ke baahar’, a campaign which encourages gids to play outdoors unrestricted.”
The campaign “Khul ke jiyo ghar ke baahar” was launched with a panel discussion that had celebrity parents, Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupathi, Dr. Mukesh Sanklecha - Consultant Pediatrician at Bombay Hospital, and Sunil Kataria. The panelists discussed how imperative it is to safe-guard children from mosquito bites since they are the most vulnerable. The discussion highlighted the criticality and urgent need to leverage schools, educators and parents and kids to develop the good habit of using personal repellents daily, as that is the best way to protect kids outdoors.
Lara Dutta, a doting and an active mother herself reflected on how things have changed and how necessary it is for parents to encourage their children to play outside. “As a mother I am continuously worried about my child’s well-being and safety whenever she is out of the protective environment of the home. Given the present scare of Dengue and Chikunguniya, we are extra cautious and want to give our daughter the best protection every time she steps out.  Good knight’s new Fabric Roll-On ensures that she is protected for a long time in an easy to use and convenient way.”
Mahesh Bhupathi added, “Both Lara and I always ensure that our daughter leads an active and sporty life and doesn’t confine herself indoors. Honestly, this does get hard at times like these when the newspapers are filled with news on Dengue and Chikunguniya. My endeavour is to teach her to stay safe at all times whether from injuries or diseases when she’s out of home. Good knight’s new range does put our minds at ease and helps us to encourage more mobility and outdoor experience for our daughter.
The Personal Repellents market in India is pegged at Rs 126 crore but only forms 2.9% of the overall Insecticide market. Only 1.1% of the households in India use personal repellents because of multiple factors like poor sensorial, unsatisfactory consumer experience and perception of it being harmful for kids. Good knight’s new range is designed to address these concerns with 100% natural actives and child safe products. KeyAll
