The first ever MTV India Music Summit witnesses a grand inauguration in Jaipur







The Pink City saw the largest gathering of musicians in India, with over 100 well known artistes coming together to launch the first ever MTV India Music Summit. Day One of the Summit witnessed a grand inauguration with the legendary Pandit Jasraj who was in Concert & Conversation with celebrated lyricist Prasoon Joshi. Pandit Jasraj offered a soulful tribute to the eminent classical vocalist, Girija Devi, who was to open the Summit and share the stage with him for the very first time. Panditji’s beautiful ode to the Queen of Thumri was a truly poignant moment and an unforgettable first session for the Summit.

 The Summit’s first concert was a large format open air extravaganza produced by Leslie Lewis, featuring greats like Hariharan and Kaushiki Chakraborty (vocalists), Ustad Shujaat Khan (sitar), George Brooks (saxophone), Amit Chaubey (tabla), and Ajay Prassanna (flute). The grand inaugural day got even grander with Papon adding his quirky style to the evening, followed by jazz on the poolside lawns with silken-voiced Vasundhara Vee & her quartet and a night of mesmerizing thumris by the incomparable Kaushiki Chakraborty.

FASHION FOR A CAUSE - By Meheka Mirpuri

Maheka Mirpuri’s charity fundraiser that was held on 6th Oct at the Taj Mahal Hotel. Actor Randeep Hooda was the guest of honor while Tisca Chopra conducted the live auction.


A sit down evening inspired by the struggles that a butterfly must go through before it emerges as a creature of beauty, was the premise of designer Maheka Mirpuri's charity gala & fundraiser in aid of the underprivileged cancer patients of Tata Memorial Hospital under the aegis of her charitable foundation MCAN. The décor for the evening was as grand as the cause it was being organized for.

The 5th installment of the fundraiser saw actor Randeep Hooda as the Guest of Honor for the evening as he walked the ramp for Maheka in support of this noble cause. He briefly spoke about the deadly disease while cheering Maheka for organizing an evening to raise funds for the financially weak fighting cancer.








An amalgamation of music & fashion, the event was hosted by Rakshanda Khan while actor Tisca Chopra conducted the live auction. The evening also had models sashay down the runway in Maheka's creations to a live music rendition by singer Akasa Singh to the accompaniment of kathak dance.

A myriad of thoughtfully put art pieces, jewellery by Mahesh Notandas, a chess set by Shaze along with Maheka's creation went under the hammer in a very interactive live auction that drew high bidding.

Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma has launched her own fashion label ‘Nush’ in collaboration with Suditi industries for the Indian market.

Baba Sehgal infact did a video praising Neha's cuisine through a rap song.


The thali meal of 6 starters and 8 main course items was enjoyed with great gusto.The use of coconut ,tamarind,herbs & spices typical of Tamil Nadu..The rarely seen Adai dosa, Avial:a stew and Sundals -both vegetarian and prawn Sundals were items that were much appreciated!

Neha is a Marwari, born and brought up in Chennai, married to a Tamil Brahmin.She has a degree in hotel management and a wide range of work experience  including at the Marriott Hotel , Flurys Kolkata,Greek Italian and Lebanese restaurants.

She curates authentic Tamil Nadu meals with great insight and delight!
