Divya khosla kumar launches Bulbul Trailer at Jai Hind College Cultural event

Talaash is the brainchild of Bachelor of Management studies of Jai Hind College, Mumbai. It started off as a mere treasure hunt and has evolved to be one of the most sought after management festival in Mumbai. True to its name, it has served as a path of self-discovery for the students of BMS in Jai Hind College; realising their talents and achieving their dreams. With a glorious history spanning more than a decade, this year, the 18th yearof this awaited festival was just the best ever portrayal of talent, creativity and hard work.

The festival this year spanned over the course of four days, the 2nd of December consisting of skill based management events, on the 3rd December itwitnessed an innovative Mafia themed Mumbai Treasure Hunt, on the 4th December, the venue for the events was Phoenix Market City Kurla, where the Band and the Drama event took place and the 6thDecember was the glamorous cultural day.

The Cultural Day was one of its kinds, with outstanding performances by colleges all over Mumbai. It was definitely a star-studded event. HèRMOSA Talaash had celebrities like Dino Morea, Divya Khosla Kumar, Ami Patel, Vinisha Jain (Curator – The Gentlemen’s Edition) 2016 Miss India Runners Up Pankhuri Gidwani, Mr. India International Dara Singh Khurana, Ayaz Ahmed, DJ J Man to name a few.

In accordance with this year's theme, 'Escape the Ordinary' the events were definitely an essential portrayal of unconventional. Few gems out of the exceptional array were Veni Vidi Vici, Jump Charades, Out if the Box, Russian Roulette, etc. If the names are any indication, the participant colleges sure were in for a ride.

Unfortunately, the students couldn't have their cultural day as planned on the 5th, due to the cyclone forecast; but Team Talaash pulled off and even better event on the 6th despite of all the hurdles that were thrown their way. Truly management students in very sense.

Dino Morea woed the crowd with his charming looks and dashing personality, he interacted with the contingent leaders of different colleges; on the other hand Divya Khosla Kumar pepped up the crowd with her quirky catchy lines from her movie ‘BULBUL’. The audience was astounded by the glamourous presence of 2016 Miss India Runners Up Ms. Pankhuri Gidwani, when she took to stage to show the students what a real diva walks like. There was an array of celebrity stylists and fashion bloggers like Ami Patel, Anchal Trivedi, etc. to name a few. The students wanted to create a judging panel for the fashion show where people from different arenas of the fashion industry come together under one roof and the students get to regard their work and also get inspired from them.

Mr. India International 2017, Darasing Khurana ‘s quoted, "I remember the times when I was a student of HR College and witnessed other students practising with enthusiasm and great deal of endurance for “TALAASH” fashion show -organised by Jai Hind College , on the college terrace. Today, I have been given the opportunity to witness ‘TALAASH’ fashion show as a judge. My mind was blown by the zest and creativity of the students and the only thing I would say to them is break a leg!"

And as this beautiful journey, an escapade to the Ordinary came to an end; HR College enthralled everybody with their performances and took the Winners trophy for Talaash 2017 as the Champions

Colours Infinity new show goes on floors

COLORS INFINITY kicks off shoot for its upcoming model hunt, Top Model India with stylish Judges  Lisa Hayden, Atul Kasbekar and Anaita Shroff, along with Mentor Shibani Dandekar. Here's a sneak peek into the show

Twinkle Khanna , Saurav Ganguly , P.Gopichand And Many Other Celebrities At Panel Discussion Held By Surf Excel

Today’s kids live in a highly competitive world where parents do everything in their ability to help them succeed in life. This constant striving for excellence is not just limited to academics but also includes a whole lot of other activities like dancing, sports, music etc. All of this leads to a pressure cooker type environment for kids where they start looking at failure as a constant judgement on their abilities. As a result of this, kids start fearing failure. The results of a recently conducted survey were quite telling and revealed that a staggering 67% of the kids feared the consequences of failure.
Parents today denounce failure, society stigmatizes failure and as a result, the kids dread failure. However, children fail as often (if not more) than they succeed. Coping with failure is a key life skill that kids need to build With this context in mind, Surf excel kicked off its #HaarkoHarao campaign to change the perspective on failure to a learning experience.

To kickstart the same, Surf excel hosted a launch event with inspiring stories on defeating failure from Sourav Ganguly, former Indian cricketer and one of the most successful Indian captains and Pullela Gopichand, former badminton player turned India’s most successful badminton coach. The event also had Twinkle Khanna, film actress and now renowned author who spoke about her perspective on failure as a parent of two kids. The event also featured Mrs. Preeti Kumar, Headmistress Poddar School and Dr. Harish Shetty, one of India’s most renowned Psychiatrist in the field of child development.

This was followed by a panel discussion where the panelists brought in their diverse experiences to bring forth the current societal view on failure and what it means for kids as they grow up. The discussion also had some interesting thoughts on what we can do as parents and a society at large to change this current perspective on failure from a judgement on a kid’s abilities to an experience that kids learn from. The panelists vision of the future was a pressure free and happier environment for kids to grow up in.

Speaking on the occasion Twinkle Khanna Said that "SheFailed As An Actor After Spending eight Years in Bollywood I realised that I failed Spectacularly in Bollywood but though it is disheartening but it did not shattered me due to my upbringing that I realised that having failed at something doesn't make me a failure "

When I was in 12th grade I wanted to become a Chartered Accountant but since my parents were in entertainment they were keen that I  join in which I did "

“It (the failure) meant that I now had the opportunity to try and succeed at million other things. I moved on and here I am today. Life is like flying a kite. Sometimes you have to hold on tight, sometimes loose. Sometimes your kite can fly effortlessly and at other times no matter what you do, you cannot control it.

Saurav Ganguly and P.Gopichand also shared their experiences with failure and how they did overcome it

The key takeaways from the discussion were as follows:
§  We live in a society that places a heavy emphasis on performance and achievement, so parents have high expectations from their children. This in turn translates into a fear of failure with kids.
§  Failure is a critical step in the learning journey. When we look back as adults, a lot of our character defining moments come from failure. We understand this with the benefit of hindsight but at that time it is important to not give up.
§  Learning to cope with failure helps kids develop key life skills that they need as they grow up. These include resilience, grit or learning something new about themselves which eventually enable success.
§  As parents and as a society, we can all contribute to creating a better environment for kids to grow up in by changing our perspective on failure to a learning experience
§  There is no failure, only learning
