Vivek Oberoi Roasts Riteish Deshmukh At Bank Chor Roasting Session!

Ever Since Meri Pyaari Bindu , whose trailer was released in a  unique and different way , the makers at yrf films , under their banner of "Y" Films whose last release was mere dad ki maruti . Their latest offering is Bank Chor Starring Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi



On Monday, the 'Bank Chor' makers hosted an event, where Riteish Deshmukh was set to get roasted by the journalists in all his capacity. The roast was too hard to handle, but Riteish sportingly took everything in his stride.

Riteish was totally grilled by the media , which he very gracefully handled it .

When Media asked Riteish about one thing that he only knows about Vivek . He answered honestly that Vivek Has a big mouth that often lands him in trouble .

While beginning the roast session, and promoting the song 'Lag Gaye Tashreef,' Vivek called for his own battle.


At the event, Vivek said, "(Tashreef toh tab lag gaye the) I was roasted then itself when 14 years ago I'd called for a press conference. The ones who didn't get this line are 'Tubelights'.

Since Vivek is playing the character of a cop in 'Bank Chor', a journalist quizzed him asking do you like Tubelight's (referring to Salman Khan's cop act in the 'Dabangg' franchise) cop stint?
The actor immediately asserted, "Yes, I did like and will watch part 3 (Dabangg 3) also.

All in all it was a very entertaining event




'Bank Chor' is slated to release on June 16.

Ila Arun And Sanjay Manjrekar Launches Ghar Jaana Hai Music Video


It’s not often that Mumbai, the Maximum City, pauses for anything. But on Thursday, May 25, it did. On the shores of the Arabian Sea at the picturesque Sun n Sand Hotel in Juhu, unfolded a beautiful musical phenomenon. ‘Ghar Jaana Hai’, sung by California-based vocalist Konark Sarangi, took the musical route to relay an important message. And Mumbai paused to listen.

 

In the past decade, the effects of climate change have been here for all to see. From unseasonal showers to never-before sweltering summers, we have all experienced it. But for some large portions of India, climate change has dramatically changed their lives. Maharashtra, Orissa and Rajasthan are the worst-hit, with entire villages being forced to abandon their homes for search of work due to water scarcity and drought. Sarangi’s song, Ghar Jaana Hai, brings alive the plight of this huge migrant population whose voices are drowned in the cacophony of our daily noise.
 
 

 The event was attended by several known faces from the world of music, and sports such as Ila Arun, Sanjay Manjrekar, K.K. Raina, Raj Zutshi. The video is conceptualised by Orissa-based filmmaker Snehasis Das, who shot it in Kantabanji, one of the worst-affected drought areas of India. It features veteran film actor Raj Zutshi and Oriya actress Gargi Mohanty. The stirring lyrics have been penned by Svati Chakraborty, the lyricist and co-director of the famed show Satyamev Jayate. The soulful composition is by music directors Sanjoy Dazz and Ambar Das, who have scored melodies for ace film directors such as Rituparno Ghosh.
 

 
Mr. Konark Sarangi said, “As a trained Indian Classical vocalist living in California, Ghar Jaana Hai is a homecoming for me in many ways. The plight of people back home affected by this issue of Drought and Migration needs world’s attention. And we knew that reaching out to them musically is definitely one of the most effective ways. The words and melody reflect the pathos of the situation and how human emotions are supressed by the evil powers of the calamity. The song compels us to take notice and action. We hope we are able to reach out to millions of people around the globe, through this engaging video and help find a solution to this massive problem, together.”

 

. The video takes us to one of the worst-hit areas of India in Kantabanji. You can feel how the place has been affected. How people are affected. But amidst all this the video will  touch your heart as  it also narrates the story of couple who are drifted apart due to drought conditions as in order to make a living . Their love and passion for each other remains strong inspite of tough situations. Human Emotions are depicted brilliantly .

Review of movie Half Girlfreind

 Overview: The film is adapted from Author Chetan Bhagat’s book bearing same name. In fact Chetan Bhagat is part of production of the movie
Story Line : The story revolves round Madhav Jha (ArjunKapoor), who belongs to so called royal family in a small village of Simrao located in Bihar. His mother runs a school in Simrao , where only boys study , girls cant study due to lack of toilets.  .Madhav moves to Delhi in order to get education.He gets admission via sports quota as he being a basketball champ. He tries to fit in the English speaking community of Delhi where he meets Rita Somani (Shraddha Kapoor), Who belongs to elite class and speaks  fluent English .There is nothing common between them .The only thing that brings them close is basket ball.which sticks them together. Madhav’s roommate and good friend warns him that riya is just playing with and will never be his girlfriend. Madhav in order to prove his friend wrong, questions Riya about their relationship,  she tells him that she is his half girlfriend means friend se zyaada aur girlfriend se kam,actually she is afraid of commitment. She is unable to deal with any problems in life whether it is her parents marital issue . Every time when her parents fight She runs away and finds solace by singing song atop india gate. Madhav gets provoked by his friends and he tries to get physical with ria , to test her . Ria runs away from him. Madhav tries  many times to apologise  to riya but riya does not listen in fact she announces to him that she is getting married to a rich tycoon .
Madhav is heartbroken but still he is deeply in love with her.   After a gap of 2. Years they again meet in Patna  at a hotel where Madhav was meeting a representative from U.S.A. He is shocked to hear that Ria has divorced her husband. .They once again hit  each other only to be separated again. . What happens next  .Will they ever meet is for the audience to watch.
Script Analysis & Director : The Script is based on book as we all know , but the second half do drag , otherwise the movie is shot beautifully , also the background score and the music is very soothing . Director Mohit Suri who  has given us Ek Villian , Aashiqui 2 , seems concentrating more on making Shraddha Kapoor look beautiful , rather than direction .
 
 
 
Performances: Arjun  Kapoor has tried hard to act as non English speaking guy but he is not suitable for this behari babu role . Though he has acted well .
Shraddha Kapoor though she is looking bueatiful but she seems to be doing same type of acting.
Vikrant Massey as Arjun’s Friend is fantastic , he has acted very well

‘Pearl Portfolio 2017’ Showcases the Next Gen in Fashion, Design and Creative Business

Pearl Academy, India’s leading private institution in design, fashion and creative businesses hosted their annual graduation event ‘Portfolio 2017’ at the Bombay Exhibition and Convention Centre in the city. The event showcased creative and design acumen of the graduating batch from the Mumbai campus. It was a culmination of several years of hard work of 107 students from various courses mentored by the faculty. The event was inaugurated by Naina Toor from Sony Entertainment, Subodh Dakwale from Indian oil and Linda Brown, President, Torrens University, Australia. The event saw a multitude of ingenious projects in the domains of design and luxury brands in an exhibition.
 
 
School of Fashion, Styling &Textiles and School of Creative Business also hosted two panel discussions with industry experts and professionals. The panel discussions underlined some very relevant subjects in fashion styling and creative business domains that will enable young design professions to design their career paths. The first panel comprising of Ms Lebana Penkar from Future Group

Mr Sanjay Dash from 7 islands Strategic Business Consulting and Mr Rajiv Subramanian from Woodstock Merchandising discussed the various possibilities that creative business offers as an industry.
 
The second panel discussion was ‘Wave Makers: Stylist and Image Curators 2.0’, which included renowned industry spokespersons like Nisha Jhangiani - Fashion Director, Verve Magazine; designer RohitChaturvedi; Fashion Director &owner of Meher Ahmed Styling - Meher Ahmed and One of the country’s leading fashion and advertising photographers -  Vishesh Verma.
 
With over 100 projects at display, Pearl Portfolio 2017 saw some revolutionary ideas in fashion, design and creative business. Fashion students came up with interesting ideas like a fashion line inspired by the fairy-tale and magical bright light of Aurora Borealis (The Northern Lights). This collection stood out with the colours and forms of the Borealis. Another unique creation was made from the used flowers collected from various temples from Mumbai. Some of the interesting design projects included a chapel cum retirement home to cater to the sociological and psychological needs of the senior citizens and a therapy centre for autistic kids.
 
 
 
 
Pearl Academy students also gave a grand culmination to their campaign #MumbaiByDesign which celebrated the spirit of people of Mumbai through various events such as designing aprons and dustbins for the eating joints of Mumbai, painting canvases on the theme of unsung heroes of the city. These canvasses will be gifted to KM Hospital, Mayor’s office, BEST office, Daabawalas Associations’ office and other government institutions. The students also designed special cushioned  caps for the Dabbawalas. Giving the campaign a grand conclusion, the Dabbawalas, taxi and auto drivers and fisher women walked the ramp for the first of its kind fashion show.
 
 
Renowned icons of Mumbai including Designer Manish Malhotra, Adman Prahlad Kakkar, Actor Anand Tiwari and Sudhir Sharma founder and chairman INDI Design reflected on their journeys in the city of dreams. Meher Castelino,first Miss India and a proud citizen of Mumbai moderated the discussion.
 
Speaking at the event, noted fashion designer Mr. Manish Malhotra said, “I am amazed to see the creativity of the students.It is wonderful to find so much talent under one roof. I congratulate the graduating students and also appreciate Pearl Academy for their unique initiative #MumbaiByDesign. Story Line : The story begins with Abhimanyu aka Bubla Roy (Ayushmann Khurrana) , who has persued his desire to become a writer leaving behind his bright career of investment banker . He specialises in writing an horror -erotica fiction . With two best selling books chudial ki choli and other to his credit , but the publisher is after him to write a third book as its high time that he did , Abhi realises that its time to change his writing genre and so he decides to write a romantic book . He decides to pen down his own love story from which he had been running away for a long time . He titles his book  Meri Pyaari Bindu . Bindu(Parineeti Chopra ) , is his childhood sweetheart cum neighbour . Bindu a south indian girl shifts to Kolkata when she was 5 years old next to abhi  , from there on their friendship begins , amidst lots of fun and mischiefs they grow up from childhood to adulthood . They go through many phases of life together , though at many times they are drifted apart due to their career needs . But nevertheless after a lots of confusion , Abhi realises that he is in love with bindu , but bimdu is quite unsettled , she has aspirations to become a singer and perform on stage world wide , but she fails to fulfil her dream . In between all this Abhi proposes to her but she rejects his proposal as she is frustrated . She flies off to Banglore , Abhi is heart broken and shattered . Though Bindu tries to connect with him to apologise but he ignores her . Then after a period of 2 years Bindu calls Abhi to give him some news . What is this news ? Will Bindu be back in Abhi's life is for the audience to watch .

Script Analysis & Director Review : The script is very poor  It had nothing new to offer , such stories recently we have seen in many movies . The script goes in flashback mostly , and scenes look lots of repitive . The Director Akshay Roy Debuts as Director but he needs to learn a lot , though he has portrayed the mind set of today's young generation is so confused about relationships . The dialogue of Ayushmann Pyaar Karna Toh Har Koi Sikhata Hai Lekin Pyaar Ko Kaise Bhule Yeh Koi Nhi Sikhata " This dialogue is very aptly placed and the logic behind it is justified totally that  is the only positive point of the movie . The Director has buetifully shown friendship between Abhi and Bindu , its just the weak script just overcomes all that . The Music will leave you nostalgic as it has songs recreated from 80's and 90's which gives the film a good look , and Kolkatta setting and in the age of computers Abhi types his book on an type writer will make you nostalgic about the era of type writers and music cassete which is refreshing .

Performances : Parineeti  as Bindu has done a good job of bubbly character full of life , she has played the character combining characteristics of shudh desi romance and befikre , She has played the role of a girl who does not complete anything and leaves everthing halfway perfectly .
Ayushmann as Abhi is not hero material ,the characteristics of a  next door boy and best buddy suits him and so the role is perfect for him .

Abhi's Bengali Family is refreshing and hilarious , which gives light moments to the movie.

The boxing fever is soon to grip India with its first ever Super Boxing League (SBL) to be held in New Delhi from July 7 to August 12, 2017. The league is being organised by British businessman Bill Dosanjh, also the founder and promoter of successful Super Fight League and professional boxing sensation & two-time world champion boxer, Amir Khan.
Eight teams comprising of 96 pugilists will come together for twelve league level matches from July 7-30, 2017 followed by two semi finals on the 5th and 6th August and the grand finale on the 12th August, 2017.
The eight teams of the inaugural edition of SBL are Mumbai Assassins, Delhi Gladiators, Haryana Warriors, Sher-E-Punjab, UP Terminators, North East Tigers, Maratha Yoddhas and Southern Super Kings.
Today’s event represents a huge step towards delivering our vision of creating an inspirational international level of contact sports in India,” said Bill Dosanjh, Owner & Promoter, Super Boxing League. “Its a great feeling to see a concept taking shape and today we have eight teams with the best of industry partners owning them. I am thankful to all team owners for believing in our vision and joining hands in delivering something which will soon be a symbol of aspiration for many young pugilists across globe.”
The eight teams participating in Super Boxing League are owned by top corporate honchos. Aditya Munjal of Hero Cycles , Arjun Jain of White Fox and Shiva Vij an industrialist from Delhi will jointly own Delhi Gladiators, Nitin Jadhav of Gajanan Oil will own Mumbai Assassins, Jaskaran Puniyani and Navraj Jaura of the Jaura Group will own UP Terminators, Southern Super Kings will be owned by Abhinandan Balasubramaniam who is also the man behind India’s first futsal league, Premier Futsal. Ajeenkya Patil of the DY Patil Group will be owning Maratha Yoddhas, the team that comes from Pune, Amit Aggarwal of S&J Granulate Solutions Pvt. Ltd. will own North East Tigers. Besides these corporate houses, SBL has a team owner who is a farmer by profession but a sport lover by passion. Karan Devgan comes on board as the owner of Haryana Warriors.
Speaking at the occasion, professional boxer and promoter of SBL, Amir Khan said, “Long-term partnerships work best for both the brand and the team, where they draw from each other’s vigour. SBL is going to be a big leap in the history of boxing and I am confident that it will become one of the most coveted title in boxing in the years to come.”
Each team at the Super Boxing League will have a squad strength of 12 boxers, including six back up boxers. A team will have a mix of five male and one female boxer and can have a maximum of three international boxers. Each action-packed weekend of SBL will see the best of 6 bouts formats across six weight categories. A bout will have 4 rounds of 3 minutes each. 
SBL has roped in Sony Pictures Networks India as the broadcast partner for on-air as well as online streaming of the league. The league will be telecasted live on SONY ESPN and SONY ESPN HD at the prime time slot of 7-9:30pm over Friday, Saturday and Sunday and will be live streamed on SONY LIV.
