EAT PLAY LOVE-Witness Mumbai’s First Multi-Cultural Food, Music & Art Festival

Mumbai, December 2016 - Exploding with flavours, aromas and recipes, India is about to witness a chaste celebration of wickedly delectable gourmet garnished with aesthetic cultural demonstrations at an inimitable two-day food, art and music festival with international production values on 17th and 18th December set against the majestic backdrop of Turf Club, Mumbai from noon to 10pm every day.
 
Titled EAT PLAY LOVE, attendees will enjoy an opportunity to sample some of the country’s best restaurants and food vendors, along with an abundance of sensory entertainment. In addition, artists will be showcasing their best work, making the venue look like a living art gallery. Being an eco-friendly festival with Pappco Greenware, expect a lot of environmental goodies.
 
Spearheaded by Percept Live and The Eat India Company, visitors at the 2 day festival will journey through the culinary road of India with participation from more than 100 exhibitors from across the country giving an opportunity to avid gastronomesto feast on diverse cuisines and savour bonafide tastes right from heritage restaurants to street food to highway dhabhas to homemade delicacies to organic fresh produce. Apart from the food and music zone, the festival will be a playground of cultural commotion with dedicated zones to art, photography, retail, wellness, comedy, adventure sports and children.
 
The EAT section with a superb line-up of ­foodie experiences will host tailor-made zones such as #EatLive #EatFresh #EatGalli #EatCafes #EatTrucks to cater to the specific preferencesof the discerning visitors apart from having live cooking demos and master classes with the top chefs of the country.  The PLAY section will witness the kids and the alternative live stage for acoustic bands, comedy acts and dance troupes apart from an open theatre for movie lovers, a gaming zone for adventure fanatics and a retail zone for fashion addicts. The LOVE section will allow connoisseurs to indulge in some serious art workshops, graffiti wall art activities, yoga seminars, fashion shows, celebrity panel discussions, book reading sessions, karaoke open house and photography exhibitions.
 
As part of its promotional campaign, EAT PLAY LOVE will be undertaking slum beautifications, street installations at traffic junctures, countdown timers at heritage city spots and travelling caravans to create the relevant hype and awareness around the annual proposition.
 
From India’s comedy rock band Alien Chutney featuring Vir Das and Punjabi rapper, Baba Sehgal and Bollywood actor Aayushman Khurana on day 1 to India’s leading live band act The Other People and pop singer Lucky Ali on day 2, EAT PLAY LOVE will be an avenue for cultural connoisseurs to come live their fantasy. Two stages named main stage and chill out stage will host stellar live acts like Voctronica the first beatboxing band, rock performance by Vikram Kaushik Monks of Mellonwah, stand-up act by Zakhir Khan and a stellar performance Dj Ahmet Kilic that will add color to the décor. An outdoor spa will allow attendees to rejuvenate and relish after some dancing.
 
Exhibiting some of the best handpicked food brands in India, the event will feature the largest live barbeque with KAVO, food truck zones and home chef zones and will be quite the event to look forward to among the city’s food lovers.
 
Home chef zone will include everything from Rajasthani to Bihari to Punjabi to Bengali to Indonesian to Japanese to Chinese to South Indian to Asian to cater to diverse taste buds. Dolly Singh, Home Café, Rasa #100. Your’s Drooly will offer innovative takes on Indian regional food. Food trucks zone will feature Lalit Food Truck, Pettoos Food Truck, and Bombay Food Truck
 
The Perrier Experience Zone will allow adventure junkies to experience a never seen before virtual experience in hot air balloon rides up in the skies. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Auto Cafe will inculcate an indo-Japanese inspired menu by well-known celebrity chef Vicky Ratnani
 
The event will see a classic race of Indian 2000 Guineas exhibiting the elegance of the race. Artists will showcase installations inspired by city landmarks within the venue while photographers will exhibit vintage photo depictions of Mumbai over the years. The flea market will have a host of  pop-up shops and variety for the shopaholics.
 
Being a festival for the entire family, there will be reserved seating for senior citizens and all-day care center for children. The festival will witness the debut of India’s only children literature festival - Peek A Book featuring master storytellers like Hawaii’s Jeff Gere, puppeteer Usha Venkatraman, fitness specialist Rashmi Ramesh, teacher turned author Katie Bagli
 
The food court will have representation from some heritage Mumbai eateries such as Moti Mahal Deluxe as well as relatively new entrants like 1441 Pizzeria, Fatty Bao, Kaavo. This makes it a good place to easily access food from some of the Mumbai’s local eating joints without travelling across the city over the weekend. Expect many contrasts with the street food section featuring  wraps and rolls, chaats and bhel in the same vicinity as the dining section featuring Wok Express, Maroosh, Fatty Bao, Moti Mahal, TGL Co. and  savoury ice-cream’s and many more delicacies at Shahi Durbar & Ice Cream Factory, Bites Of Bliss, Frugurpop. Other food exhibitors will include Keventers, Kolkata Konnection,  Punjab Da Chullah, ,Hungry Monks

The festival will travel to Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune and Nagpur in 2017 with a plan to expand to newer regions over the next 3 years.
