Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films Presents Tisca Chopra starrer short film – ‘Chutney’

Mumbai, 28th November 2016: After the resounding success of Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘Ahalya’, Jaydeep Sarkar’s ‘Nayantara’s necklace’, Adhiraj Bose’s ‘Interior CafĂ©’ , Neeraj Pandey’s ‘Ouch’ , Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films is back again with a fifteen minute short film titled ‘Chutney” starring the extremely skilled and proficient actor Adil Hussain, the gorgeous Tisca Chopra and extremely talented Rasika Duggal.
Themed on the objective of “keep perfecting”, the Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films is a platform for aspiring directors to feature along with mainstream Bollywood directors and chase their creative energy to establish themselves in the industry. The platform gives a stage to storytellers to showcase their artistic creativity and reach out to their target audience through the online world.
Commenting on the release, Raja Banerji, Assistant Vice President, Marketing, Pernod Ricard India, said “Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films is extremely happy to present Tisca Chopra and Adil Hussain starrer “Chutney.” The way we look at cinema today has changed completely and as an attempt to encourage and motivate the young and talented directors we present these short films to the audience. Resonating with the core philosophy of Royal Stag Barrel Select, the platform is meant to help them keep perfecting their skills and establish themselves in the market.”
The woman behind Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films’ new release, ‘Chutney’, Jyothi Kapur Das is known for her work in movies like ‘Bhag Milkha Bhag’, ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, ‘Queen’ and ‘Kahaani.’ The extremely talented Adil Hussain and the very beautiful Tisca Chopra starrer ‘Chutney’ is an epic piece conceptualised behind the idea of taking a look into the lives of great Indian middle class people with aspirations and desires for imported cars and inclination towards pricey materialistic things. Using satire as a narrative, the director has tried to get a voyeuristic look into the relationships of these people and the dark secrets that they hide while casually going out their daily lives.

Talking about the film, director, Jyothi Kapur Das said, “The story of “Chutney” is an amalgamation of different facets of lives of great Indian middle class people who show a public face to the world but have a deep dark side which no one is aware of. I approached this story with a realistic approach and the way Adil, Tisca and Rasika have played brought sentiments alive through their characters is brilliant. As a filmmaker it is very important to be able to showcase your work freely and I believe Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films is a great platform that lets you be as creative as possible.”

10 TIPS TO STAY A HEALTHY, HAPPY AND FIT MOM

                                                #YouNeedTakingCareOfToo!

TIP 1

ENERGY IN=ENERGY OUT

Your daily intake of energy through healthy eating should balance with the energy spent through physical activity. If the intake is greater than energy spent, there is positive energy balance and weight gain. Likewise, when the energy spent is higher than the energy intake, there is negative energy balance and weight loss. During pregnancy eat healthy and stay active; do not try to lose weight. Post pregnancy, begin a healthy exercise routine that will help you lose weight in the longer term.

TIP 2

KINOW YOUR ENERGY GIVING FOODS

Macronutrients: provide energy (carbohydrates, proteins, fats)

Micronutrients: help in the functioning of the body (vitamins & minerals)

Ensure that you do not eat more calories than what you can burn through physical activity. If you consume more calories than what you can expend, you will end up gaining weight.

TIP 3

HAVE A RAINBOW ON YOUR PLATE

Make half of your plate fruits and vegetables at every meal. Avoid foods that are deep fried or highly sugared sodas as they provide excessive empty calories.

TIP 4

NOT ALL FATS ARE BAD; SOME ARE GOOD; SOME EVEN ESSENTIAL

Healthy fats like mono and polyunsaturated fats found mainly in liquid fats like oils are good for health as they reduce bad cholesterol (LDL) and increase good cholesterol. Saturated fats, which are typically solid at room temperature like butter or ghee should be consumed in limits as they tend to raise bad cholesterol and reduce good cholesterol that may increase health risks.

TIP 5

CHOOSE YOUR SNACKS SMARTLY

Pick nutrient rich, low/med calorie, high satiety foods that keep you fuller longer. Eat often and have smaller portions if you feel nauseated. Choose lighter snacks instead of heavy greasy snacks as it may increase heart burn and gastric issues in pregnant women.

Nuts-Rich in proteins, fibre and essential fatty acids (good fats)

Dairy foods-Rich in proteins, calcium, vitamins A/D and essential fats

Eggs-Proteins, vitamin A/D and essential fats

Salads, vegetables, fruits-Fibre, Vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients

Soups with vegetables-Hydration, water soluble vitamins, fibre

TIP 6

DON’T AVOID, TAKE SMALLER PORTIONS

Make sure you take smaller portions, and enjoy a treat every now and then. Start with smaller portions, eat slowly and as our mom’s say,‘ food is not running away’. Another way to control your portions, is to use smaller plates. Remember however, in pregnancy you need 300kcal extra per day than your usual intake!

TIP 7

3 MEALS AND 2 HEALTHY SNACKS

Three healthy meals and two healthy snacks is a great plan for most people. 200 calories or less is sufficient for a snack. Enjoy desserts, dairy foods as extra calories are important for your growing baby and calcium from dairy foods is helpful. Watch the portions and the calories though!

TIP 8

CUT THE SALT!

Reduce salt intake as excessive consumption of salt raises blood pressure and increases insulin resistance. In pregnant women, excessive salt intake increases the risk of PIH (Pregnancy induced hypertension) that leads to further complications if not corrected.

WHO recommends 5g/salt per day per person. This is 1 tsp of salt from all sources. All foods contain sodium naturally-enjoy them naturally. Remove table salt. Taste food before adding salt. Avoid pickles, papad and salted snacks.

TIP 9

DRINK ADEQUATE FLUIDS EVERYDAY

The human body is made up of 45-70% water. Water regulates body functions and body temperature. Without water humans can survive only for a few days.  A pregnant and lactating mother should take plenty of fluids including 8-12 glasses of water per day.

Drinking water reduces the risk of preterm labour and some women find that drinking water regularly helps relieve symptoms of morning sicknessacidity and heartburn and indigestion. It also helps in keeping your body cool and maintaining your temperature, especially in the hot and humid months. It helps improve lactation as well.

Fluids include water, milk, buttermilk, juices, water ice, ice cream, tender coconut water, milk shakes.

TIP 10

EAT MINDFULLY

Mindfulness involves being conscious of the activity you are indulging in. Eating during times when not hungry can lead to mindless eating. It can lead to bad choices that is neither enjoyed nor nourishing. Avoid emotional eating. Enjoy eating with the family.

Parveen Dusanj - Bedi & Suki Dusanj launches Fair Trade India Week to promote fair and transparent trade of fashion.

Mumbai, November 21, 2016,  This day marked the opening of Fair Trade India week,  where Fashion Revolution organised hangout events pan-India introducing True Cost of fashion and the impact our textiles industry have on people and the planet. Multiple screenings in Mumbai, Bangalore & Chennai will screen the True Cost Fashion documentary by Andrew Morgan in a bid to inform consumers, retailers, manufacturers and the government about change that needs to happen for a more transparent, fair and sustainable industry.

“Fair Trade India’s theme this year is ‘The Power of You’ so as Head of Fashion Revolution India it is my duty to use the power of me to discuss the power of India. India is the second largest producer of silk in the world and the third largest producer of cotton. We have a massive influence on the world and its environment when it comes to the garment industry but India is paying the price for it. Why is Kanpur (dubbed as the leather manufacturing capital of the world) drenched in Chromium 6? If anybody watched Erin Brockovich they will know the scandal that the oscar nominated movie was based on - a case in California where the company Pacific Gas and Electric were sued for contaminating the drinking water in the town of Hinkley with Chromium 6, they were awarded 333 million dollars as settlement, guess where  the same deadly chemical is currently being used… Right here on our land in Kanpur, India to make leather and then it is washed up on the shores of our rivers and penetrated into our land and into the water systems where disease, disability and infertility is rife. I ask the question - do Indian lives matter less? What about our people? I believe that at some point there will be a tipping point and retail brands will have to build better supply chains and relationships with their manufacturers. Although I am British born and live in Switzerland I spend a lot of time in India and I have spent years working in India. I am inherently Punjabi and come from farming roots. I have a social responsibility to use my collective power as a force for good. I care about the farmer, I care about the environment and more to the point I really do want to know who made my clothes. I support fair and transparent fashion.” Suki Dusanj - Lenz, Head of Fashion Revolution India

The Fashion Revolution has already begun, we have more sustainable brands setting up shop and we have gaged a massive global imprint digitally asking consumers & brands to show their label and ask Who Made My Clothes? We are now in 92 different countries.

Every year the talented sister duo, holds a Fashion Revolution week starting on the 24th April to honour those that died during the Rana Plaza disaster. However Fashion Revolution runs all year round, raising awareness of the fashion industry’s most pressing issues, showing that change is possible and celebrating those who are on a journey to create a more ethical and sustainable future for fashion.

Gracing the event to show their support and solidarity were Kabir Bedi, Aftab Shivdasani, Nin Dusanj, Nidhi Subbiah, Noi Ceclia oldne

Quick facts -
India is one of the worlds largest producers of textiles and clothes with many global brands producing their garments in India due to the competitive price points and cheap labour costs. The textiles industry is the second largest polluter in the world. The first is oil.

Impact
In 2016 70,000 people asked brands WHO MADE MY CLOTHES on social media with a 129 million reach of #FashRev hashtags which is double the 2015 figures.

This year over 1251 brands responded to #WhoMadeMyClothes? On social media.
