Unveiled 'My Clingy Girlfriend' by Madhuri Banerjee at Sante
Mumbai, April 7th, 2015: Bollywood Actress and Former Miss India Prachi Mishra of DilliwaaliZaalim Girlfriend fame, unveiled the latest book ‘My Clingy Girlfriend’ by Madhuri Banerjee at Sante, Hill Road, Bandra. She is the bestselling author of five novels and also the writer of successful Bollywood film Hate Story 2 , the book brings an uproariously howl-arious account of a simple Bengali boy in Mumbai who copes, mopes and hopes to find logic and reasoning with his clingy girlfriend.
While Prachi Mishra unveiled the book, those in attendance included eminent Authors like Rashmi Bansal, Amish Tripathi and Ravi Subramanian were present at the book launch.
Giving an insight into the book, Author Madhuri Banerjee explained, “My Clingy Girlfriend is a hilarious story of funny incidents which happen in the life of a young Bengali boy called Obrokranti and his extremely possessive and dominating girlfriend Radha. The book is through the eyes of a man who’s desperately caught between a dilemma of constantly placating his girlfriend and managing his job with idiot bosses.”
She further adds, “I decided to write this book because I wanted to challenge myself as an author and see if I could write like a man as well in a humour genre. I also wanted to show a mirror to society where there are insecure women who become possessive and nice men who are unable to understand women at all."
Bollywood Actress Prachi Mishra shared, “Madhuri is one of my favourite authors and I’m glad that she invited me for the book launch. I have read almost all her books and the role played by me in my latest film DilliwaliZaalim Girlfriend is somewhat similar to the protagonist of this book.’’

Obrokranti Banerjee’s girlfriend ticks all of these, and more. Caught between wanting to break up, and the fear that he’ll never find another girlfriend if he does, Obrokranti finds himself doing things he never imagined: watching Shah Rukh Khan movies, having to fast with her on karvachauth, and perhaps worst of all, having his girlfriend join him on a boys night out!
