India's first international star, KabirBedi launches a Collector’s Edition DVD Box Set of his world famous TV show in India.
Mumbai, 8th December 2015: The super hit international series ‘Sandokan’ starring KabirBedi in the lead role that took Europe & Latin America by storm in the late 70’s is back. The 6-hour mini-series, now dubbed in Hindi, will be released as a DVD. The DVD Boxset of the epic adventure and romance drama was launched by none other than Anil Kapoor. The actor graced the occasion to extend his support to Kabir, having had his own share with international TV show remakes, namely '24' in Hindi, and soon to be adapted Modern Family in India. Just as these TV shows, Sandokan has also been dubbed in Hindi for the Indian audiences adding more local favour to the epic series.
Sandokan is the story of an Asian Prince turned pirate, played by KabirBedi, who fights the British Empire for the freedom of his people and the woman he loves: an English woman. It is a saga of adventure, action, friendship, betrayal and an impossible love-story. The Italian-French-German co-production, TV series, made KabirBedi a heartthrob across Europe and Latin-America is set to make new records again.
KabirBedi, India's first international actor, is popular across the globe for his films and tv shows, and for his roles in the 'Bold and the Beautiful' and the Bond film 'Octopussy'. However, it was Sandokan, that launched Kabir’s international acting career that spans over 3 continents, and hasn't taken a break even after 40 years. The TV mini-series was based on a character created by Emilio Salgari. It became Europe's most successful series to date, and it is still loved by every generation. Sandokan is the gift that has not stopped giving. This Collector's Edition Sandokan DVD boxset is Kabir's celebration of the series which he has dubbed it into Hindi for the Indian audiences. He has also produced a fresh new version of the original Sandokan theme song in Hindi.
