Overview : Waiting is
movie that makes you learn lesson of life
Storyline : The story revolves round Shiv (Naseeruddin Shah
) , whose wife has been in coma in first class hospital in cochin for the past
9 months , his wife is on life support system
till then . On the other hand , there is Tara (Kalki Koechlin) , whose
husband has met with an accident and is also in coma . Shiv and Tara strike a
friendship of necessity in a hospital waiting room . Shiv guides Tara how to cope with the grief .
He has reached a zen stage wherein he has accepted the grief whereas for Tara the grief is very fresh .
The doctors ask shiv to give up and let go of the support
system as his wife will never really get out of Coma , but Shiv is adamant , he
thinks that doctor Nirupam (Rajat Kapoor ) , is doing this only for business
purpose and he does not want to operate on a senior citizen. Shiv is not ready
to give up yet as he thinks whether that
is what his wife of 40 years would want him to do ? On the other hand there is
dilemma with Tara as well wherein the doctor adamant to do her husband brain
surgery but there is an question whether he will be the same again , as there
is a possibility that he might be stuck in a wheel chair for life . Would he
want that life , and would it be ok to subject him to brain surgery .
What happens to both the cases is for audience to watch .
Performances : Naseeruddin a classic actor is at his best ,
the facial expressions and emotions and anger and dilemma all those human
traits are depicted by him to perfection . Kalki has also acted well .

doctor has played well you can either like him or hate him .
Director Anu Menon does not spell the beans as the scenes
unfold . she makes you impatient like the characters on screen . She makes you
waiting wondering what next . Menon involves you and makes the pain of the
characters on screen ‘yours’ Such is the direction . The Movie has a good
screenplay .
Verdict : Watch it to experience pain of waiting , debate , dilemma of a person stuck in bad
situation
Its not a commercial movie and not for weak hearted persons
