Overview : After a long time Shahrukh is back in his action avatar bhaijaan style.
Story Line : The story is set in early 1980-90’s set in Gujrat when liquor consumption and trading both were banned . The story revolves round small school going boy Raees (Shahrukh Khan ), who stays in a small town of Gujrat with his mother who is very poor . But his mother had incorporated in him the value that “KOI Dhanda chota nahi hota Aur Dhande Se Bada Koi Dharam Nahi Hota Jab Tak Usse Kisika Bura Nahi Hota ” Carrying this value in his mind Raees starts working at a very young age for popular Liquor smuggler played by Atul Kulkarni . After working for many years under him , Raees decides to start his own business. As Atul had rightly believed that Raees has Dimaag of a Baniya and body of a Muslim . His brain works very fast due to his smartness Raees soon manages to makre it big in the world of liquor trading , apart from being a top notch liquor trader , he in return also work to do good and uplift the poor people from his town . His growing success caught the eyes of Police S.P Jaideep Majmumdar (Nawauddin Siddiqui ). Majmudaar takes an oath to arrest Raees , from there onwards a cat and mouse chase begins between the two of them .
While Raees popularity among his people and political network favours Raees , all this work in facour of raees , on the other hand majmumdar patience is tested but he is determined and keeps his calm , no matter how many times he is transferred in different departments. .
What will happen next , Will Majmumdar be able to nail Raees Will the political people will be faithful to raees or there is a twist is for the audience to watch .
Script Review And Director Analysis : The script of the movie is very well written and the movie is very well directed . Each character is placed perfectly , there is action and emotion and anger avatar depicted by Shahrukh , on the other hand there are lighter and comic moments by Nawazuddin Siddiqui that works like icing on the cake . The key element of the movie is the storyline that keeps the audience hooked to their seats The background score is excellent and editing is powerful especially in action scenes in a goat market

Performances : Shahrukh Khan as the gangster has given an power packed performance . He has enacted an extreme anger scenes when someone calls him battery with total power and finesse Its his one of his best performance. Mahira Khan does nothing special here , any Bollywood actress could have done a better job . Nawazuddin Siddiqui is a born star , his scenes are loaded with entertainment and are fun to watch . Other star cast have done their job well as per their role.
Final Word : Raees is a total Bollywood Masala movie complete with Action , Romance , Thrill ,Comedy and Emotion . Total Value for Money Entertainment
