Mumbai: Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan(YCP), Mumbai in collaboration with Pune Film Foundation, University of Mumbai and supported by Government of Maharashtra has organized “7th Yashwant International Film Festival 2017” from 20 January 2017, Friday to 26 January 2017, Thursday at Chavan Centre, Mumbai. Announced by Festival Director Dr. Jabbar Patel in the press conference. YCP’s General Secretary Sharad Kale, Festival Chief Co-ordinator Mahendra Teredesai, Desk Officer Sanjay Bansode also were present for the press conference.
Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan’s President and MP Sharad Pawar will be present at the inaugural function. Vice Chancellor of University of Mumbai Dr. Sanjay Deshmukh will be also present for this auspicious occasion, said YCP’s General Secretary Sharad Kale.
We are showing around 75 worldwide cinemas during the festival. We have started Smita Patil Memorial Lecture last year. Veteran Director Mahesh Bhatt delivered the lecture. This year We have invited renowned director Ashutosh Gowarikar. Master Class is another USP of festival. Under this section Jorge Arriganda, Chile music composer will conduct the workshop on sound and music, Added Dr. Jabbar Patel.
During the festival 52 world cinema, 4 retrospective, 7 Latin America, 3 Indian, 3 Marathi films will be shown. In country focus category we have chose Vietnam this year. 5 Vietnami films will be there in the festival. We also showing 29 short films made by students.
